If you enjoy the warmth and spirit of the holiday season and bringing a smile to the face of a child or youth, this is the role for you!
We call on volunteers at this very busy time of year to co‐ordinate the gifts and donations offered to children and youth in the care of the Halton Children’s Aid Society.
We sort toys by gender and age group and distribute them to our foster parents who wrap and present them to the children and youth at Society-provided parties.
We also run a sponsorship program through which individuals and companies in the community “adopt” a family in need and provide gifts and food for the holidays. One volunteer is required to be the ‘contact’ person and needs to be available in‐house for the full month of December. With the assistance of the Volunteer Coordinator, this contact person matches the donor with the family in need and co‐ordinates other volunteers to receive the donated items as well as deliver the gifts to the families.
