The Board of Directors of the Halton Children’s Aid Society (Halton CAS) is excited to announce the appointment of Michelle McGaw to the position of Executive Director effective November 25, 2024. Michelle succeeds Janice Robinson who retired from the Society on July 12, 2024, after almost six years in the role of Executive Director of Halton CAS and 38 years of loyal service to the child welfare sector.
Michelle brings 14 years of experience working in the child welfare sector at Halton CAS. She has served as Halton CAS’s Interim Executive Director since July 2024, and prior to that held the position of Director of Human Resources and Administration which included oversight of quality improvement, information services, administrative and volunteer services, and human resources.
During Michelle’s tenure at Halton CAS, she has helped guide the organization through significant periods of change, by providing strategic, operational, and human resources leadership for the Society. Michelle brings a unique wealth of knowledge that couples her strong experience and expertise in leading corporate operations alongside her involvement and commitment to supporting the implementation of effective service models.
Michelle has been a champion of the Society's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion journey. Through her leadership, Michelle fostered meaningful relationships, advocated for inclusive practices and supported initiatives that address systemic inequities within child welfare. As the Executive Director, Michelle looks forward to advancing the Society’s journey by strengthening partnerships and ensuring that Truth and Reconciliation and equity and inclusion remain central to the organization's work.
