On October 17, 2018, cannabis became legal in Ontario for people 19 years and older. This is the same minimum age as tobacco and alcohol. Provincial law (Cannabis Control Act, 2017) prohibits individuals under the age of 19 from possessing any amount of cannabis.The government has put in place rules that will keep the province’s children and youth safe.
